Who we are
Wearhouse is a Bangladeshi fashion brand which was created by Architect-turned-designer Tasnim Ferdous as a fun clothing label with a combined love for fashion, local crafts, culture and travel. She wanted to design well-made and well fitted clothes, with a refreshing twist of prints and textures, that inspire confidence, without burning a hole in your pocket.
Wearhouse proudly embraces the spirit of eccentricity. The unorthodox and outlandish nature of designs depicts the core ideology of Wearhouse, which is to draft a bit of zany and wilderness amidst the monotony of our regular, structured lives. Creating Contemporary Quirky Clothing alone isn't enough. Wearhouse values doing the right thing and want to feel good about everything it creates. That means an ethical approach starting from start to end. From the fabrics they use, to how they design and make and deliver the products. Wearhouse thinks about every impact the business has. And it's with the greater aim of minimising our environmental footprint. Tasnim Ferdous is also a proud supporter of slow fashion, which is why she designs clothing intended to last. She hopes the contemporary, easy-to-wear pieces will become your favourites.
Design philosophy
Wearhouse’s core mission is to give a new lease of life to our local crafts while catering to modern women of every size, shape and style. We use traditional block printing and screen printing techniques, which have been practiced in our country for a long time, with a contemporary twist. With the thought of changing the Bangladeshi fashion landscape forever, our unique designs, with strong emphasis on prints, outshine the rest. Our focus is on quality material, design, fit and sizing.
Our pieces are hand crafted meaning every single piece has subtle variations and we believe it makes them all the more unique and charming.
Fit
We design clothes for real women, which means when we are fitting them, we don’t use static mannequins or models with unrealistic measurements. We studied about a real woman's shape, fits and size classification and came up with 7 sizes. We make those measurements our guideline and fit all our pieces in alignment with that. It is our belief, the right fitting is when the clothes fit you, not you trying to fit into them.
Designer’s note:
“Fashion is not just about what you wear. It is a lot like architecture, a shelter for your body. Dressing well can be a tool for you to express yourself, it should excite you and let you be your most authentic self.”
